Bob, I have two DC cranes with worn master switches in the cab. New vertical masters are too expensive to buy new and I’m hoping somehow to stay within my maintenance budget. If I send two used masters for you to rebuilt can you really convert them to what I need? I have a Cutler Hammer type f and Square-d type cm I can send. Can you really help me with this?

Alex, your Square D type 5010-T and GE IC9528 brakes were built to AISE standards which means all the mounting dimensions are the same. That means the GE brake will bolt up without a problem and they use the same width wheel. Your WB22 brake is non aise so to use it would require remounting and a new wheel since the wheels are different widths. One caution is to research the coils specs of both brakes to make sure they are compatible. I can help with that if needed.

I have a 13” Square-D type 5010-T brake that is all worn out and I want to replace it using one of many others I have in my storeroom. I don’t really want expensive modifications. Are there any other brakes that are a direct fit? I have a 13” General Electric type IC-9528 brake and a 13" ECM WB22. Will either of them bolt up?
